Report for the Municipality of Venlo

Mapping Hiding Places produced a report for the Municipality of Venlo which revealed how dozens of German men, who were married to Dutch women, helped Jews to hide in Venlo during the war. The Municipality of Venlo wanted to learn more about these hiding stories after a hiding place for Jews, created by a German couple, was recently discovered in Venlo.

Our project assistant Lars de Vries was then commissioned by the Municipality of Venlo to create a digital collection of maps about Jewish hiding places in and around Venlo. He has since discovered 140 stories of people in hiding and more than 70 addresses.
